In Feb 1980 'Everyday Electronics' published an article, 'Simple S.W Receiver' by R.A Penfold.
The receiver was a two transistor TRF set employing plug in Denco coils. I bought a Denco Green Range 3 that covered Top Band to 80m. All the parts were sourced locally from 'Dorset Radio' in Weymouth, owned by Len Bower, G3BKV.
There were several 160m AM nets in the Weymouth area on a Sunday morning and these formed my introduction to Amateur Radio.
I hadn't been a member of the South Dorset Radio Society (SDRS) for very long when this photograph was taken circa 1980.
